Goals & Action Plans

When most people think about what really matters to them and then look at what’s holding them back, they learn a lot about what needs to be done.

Start by identifying a meaningful goal or goals that you feel ready to work towards. This is the beginning of your journey towards improvement. There may be some ups and downs along the way, but without a direction, it is easy to fall into a downward spiral of inactivity, depression and increased pain.

Break down your goal or goals into smaller steps and/or weekly action plans. The action plans are concrete steps you will take to reduce your suffering and take charge of your recovery. We recommend including exploration of the resources compiled here in your early action plans. The pace is up to you and depends on how curious and how ready you are.

As you learn more about how the pain system works and changes based on your experiences, return here to update your goals and action plans.
